JAMMU, Jan 6: Up in arms against the Government move on screening test of ReTs and induction of outsiders as Joint Directors in the School Education Department, the members of School Education Employees Coordination Committee will set their degrees on fire as mark of protest on January 11.
“Members of the Coordination Committee will burn their certificates as a mark of protest against dictatorial attitude of Educational authorities, which are hell bent to humiliate the teaching fraternity and stall promotional avenues of the Education officers,” said   Abdul Qayoom Wani, chairman of SEECC, while addressing a press conference along with representatives of other constituents of the Committee.
The SEECC is a conglomerate of  Jammu and Kashmir Principals Forum, Jammu and Kashmir School Education Officers Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Lecturers Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Non-Teaching  Employees Forum, Class IV Employees Forum and Contingent Paid Employees  Forum.
Maintaining that Government decision on screening test of ReTs will be opposed tooth and nail, Mr Wani said that the SEECC will not tolerate the attempt to humiliate teaching fraternity.
He also criticized the arbitrary order of Education Department to induct outsiders (KAS) officers on the posts of Joint Directors in the Department of School Education just to put a halt on the promotion avenues of senior, efficient and dedicated officers of the Department.
“The decision is absolutely violation of norms, illogical and unacceptable to the employees of Education Department from class-IV to JD’s level,” the SEECC leader said.  He added that the Education Department is having best human resources available which needs encouragement and empowerment to uplift the academic standards, but unfortunately the Education Minister and higher ups of the Department were trying to tarnish the image of teaching fraternity along with other employees of the Department.
Mr  Wani, who was accompanied by Ganesh Khajuria, Narender Jamwal and others in the press conference,  also criticized the ban  on tuition by Government teachers  and highlighted other pending issues of teaching fraternity,  like regularization of all incharge officers, regularization ReTs, KGBVs,  removal of pay anomaly of Masters  and  Clerical  cadres, regularization of Contractual employees working in SSA, RMSA, SBM, earned leave benefits in favour of teaching community and  implementation of minimum wages act in favour of Contingent Paid employees of Education Department.
