SRINAGAR, May 26: Naini Jayaseelan, Secretary, Inter State Council (ISC), Ministry of Home Affairs called on Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor discussed with Jayaseelan the crucial importance of Inter State Council for strengthening Centre-State relations and for promoting cooperative federalism in the country.
Brigadier S.G Mehta, Group Commander, NCC Srinagar also called on Governor and briefed him about the functioning of the NCC in Srinagar.
The Governor stressed the need for expanding NCC activities in the State to enroll a much larger number of boys and girls, particularly from the remote and far-flung areas of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions, to provide them the confidence and discipline which would equip them for varied career opportunities in their future lives.
