Secretary Cooperative kicks off 61st Cooperative Week

JAMMU, Nov 14: In connection with Cooperative Week Celebration a function was organized by Cooperative Department in collaboration with J&K Cooperative Union at Cooperative Office Complex.
The 61st Cooperative week was flagged off today by Secretary to Government, Cooperative Department, R.K. Koul.
This year’s theme of Cooperative Week is Cooperative Model for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth.
The week long celebrations start from November 14 and conclude on November 20.
Registrar Cooperative J&K, Basharat Saleem, Additional Registrar Anajna Tikoo, Deputy Registrar, Uddam Dass Sharma, Chairperson JWCC, Kailash besides senior officers from Cooperative and Apex Bodies were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, R.K. Koul said that the main objective of celebrating Cooperative Week is to increase public awareness and to motivate more and more people to join cooperative sector at grass root level to take cooperative movement forward.
Stressing the need for further strengthening the movement, Secretary urged upon the functionaries to evolve better work culture by putting in their sincere efforts to give fillip to this movement of the people, adding that the mutual strength and financial self sufficiency would also be beneficial for the organization in times to come. Collective efforts, high degree of discipline and cooperation is vital for overall growth and development of cooperative societies and its allied units, he added.
He said that the cooperative is the largest movement in the India which believes in “All for Each and Each for All” policy.  He said that cooperation among cooperative institutions is crucial for growth of the movement.
Registrar Cooperative J&K, Basharat Saleem said that cooperative sector has huge potential and asked the field/development agencies to make collective efforts to revive the movement. He added that hard work, honesty and sincerity are basic values which needs to be adopted for smooth functioning of cooperative organizations.
