SRINAGAR, Dec 25: Security forces today launched cordon and search operations in Anantnag town this evening after two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists were spotted walking through a marketplace.

Following the sighting, Quick Reaction Teams of the Army, Police and the CRPF were rushed to the area. A massive search operation has been launched in Dangerpora and Qazibagh areas of the town.
One of the terrorists has been identified as Mohammad Lateef Bhat, a resident of Khrewan in Kulgam district. According to details available with security agencies, Bhat is the son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat.
Security officials said Bhat had joined Lashkar-e-Toiba’s shadow outfit, the Kashmir Revolution Army (KRA), in November. A poster released by the outfit mentions his date of joining as November 17, 2025.
Another terrorist is said to be a Pakistani LeT commander Hanzullah.
