SAMBA, Dec 17: Security forces launched a massive search operation after a local resident reported that he saw three suspects near Mansar, a popular tourist destination of Jammu region. The incident occurred on Tuesday when a local resident went to collect leaves for cattle in the forest of Qyuni Mohalla near Choa Nursery in Mansar. He spotted three suspicious individuals armed with weapons and wooden sticks. They signalled him to leave. Police cordoned off the area overnight and launched a search operation.

The operation continued on Wednesday also. Security forces searched the entire area from Wednesday morning. The search operation involved personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s, Special Operations Group (SOG), the Army, and other paramilitary forces.
The area is densely forested and borders Jammu and Udhampur districts, making the presence of terrorists impossible to rule out.
