SAMBA, Mar 14: A massive search operation was launched by security forces today in the Ramgarh area of Samba after a suspected drone was spotted here on Friday late night.
The suspected drone movement was noticed for a few minutes over the villages of Kandral, Abtal and Bahadurpur in Ramgarh sector late Friday night.
After that the area was kept under strict surveillance and a massive search operation was launched at first light of the day to ensure that there was no air-dropping of weapons or narcotics from across the border. The search operation was launched by BSF, JK Police and SoG personals in Kandral, Abtal, Nandpur and Bahadurpur villages of the district after reports of sighting of a drone hovering over the village Kandral, Abtal and Nandpur in Ramgarh area of District Samba.
The drone was observed approaching from the direction of the Pakistan side opposite to BSF BoP Kandral moving towards the village and then returning towards the Pakistan side.
The drone remained visible for 2/3 minutes before disappearing from sight in the Ramgarh area.
