SDM orders inquiry against doctor for corruption charges

MENDHAR, June 13: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mendhar Th. Sher Singh has ordered inquiry against a lady doctor posted in SDH Mendhar facing the charge of corruption.
Official sources said that action was taken by the Magistrate after the Habib Alam and his mother Kalima Bi, alleged that lady doctor (Gyn) posted at Mendhar hospital demanded and charged Rs 1000 from them for handling delivery case of Nahim Akhtar ( Habib’s wife), who delivered male baby last night at hospital. They alleged that earlier, they moved to the BMO Dr Zulfkar but he did not listen to them. Then, they approached the SDM.
The family even alleged that they were denied ambulance facility for shifting patient after delivery to their home village Ari from hospital. They hired a private Sumo and shifted the patient to home today. Despite tall claims of the Government to provide free services to pregnant women at hospitals, the staff was not providing any such facilities and those at the helm of affairs were mute spectators, they said.
The SDM directed the BMO Mendhar to hold an inquiry into the matter and submit report to him within two days.
