JAMMU, Sep 1: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura Virender Gupta today solved long-drawn water crisis in village Budh-Charai.
Due to water crisis in village Budh-Charai, there was a long pending demand of villagers of Budh-Charai to get their water connection tapped with its water source falling under another/adjacent village of Kannehri but.
Though village Kannehri has a sufficient natural water resource, however, its villagers had been refusing to share their water resource with the villagers of Budh-Charai, with the contention that this water resource is meant only for them. A series of attempts by previous SDMs/PHE Officers had already made to break the stalemate because the villagers of Kannehri were quite adamant and kept been refusing to share their water resource with anyone.
Today, the SDM Chowki Choura Virender Gupta accompanied by Tehsildar Chowki Choura and AEE Jal Shakti Department with its engineering team visited village Kannehri, adjacent village of Budh-Charai. The SDM sensitized the villagers, amicably pacified them and resolved the issue by tapping the water resource for the villagers of Budh-Charai as well. The SDM remained present on the spot till the task was completed.
On the way-back, a satisfactory progress was noticed over the excavation of Bhanbla-Sungal Tunnel. Further, to meet the deadline fixed by the Deputy Commissioner Jammu to verify the beneficiaries under PM Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the SDM accompanied by Tehsildar Chowki Choura paid a visit to the office of AEO Agriculture, Chowki Choura to review the progress having been made by the verification team. After gauging their progress, the team was exhorted to put more efforts to meet the target set by the higher authorities.
