SDCM praises Jammu’s railway ticket-checking staff for honesty, passenger service

JAMMU, Mar 14: Indian Railway’s Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SDCM), Jammu, Uchit Singhal, has praised the region’s ticket-checking staff for their honesty and passenger-friendly service.
A statement said in one incident highlighting exemplary service, Sandeep Kumar, a member of the ticket-checking staff posted at Pathankot Railway Station, found a bag left behind by a woman passenger on seat number 1 in Coach C/1 of Train number 22429 during duty.
After verifying the details in the presence of the Government Railway Police at Pathankot City, the statement said, Kumar safely returned the bag containing a mobile phone and important documents to the passenger, who expressed gratitude for the prompt action.
In another case, a woman passenger travelling from Srinagar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in Coach C/6 of Train No. 26404 Vande Bharat Express accidentally left her bag in the coach. On being informed, ticket-checking staff member Akib Ahmed immediately launched a search and traced the bag. After completing verification at the Katra Ticket Inspector’s office, the bag containing a mobile phone, jewellery and cash was returned to the passenger.
Meanwhile, on March 14, the SDCM honoured Deepak Kumar, a member of the ticket-checking staff in Jammu, with a Certificate of Appreciation for his honesty, dedication and outstanding contribution towards revenue generation.
Uchit Singhal said the staff of the Jammu Division continues to set an example of professionalism and commitment, adding that such acts strengthen passengers’ trust in the railway system and enhance the reputation of Indian Railways.
