JAMMU, Oct 7: Sanatan Dharam Sabha here today under the leadership of its president, Parshotam Dadichi, celebrated Valmiki Jayanti with fervour.
In this regard a big function was organised at Kameshwar Mandir, Trikuta Nagar in which different speakers threw light on the life of Maharishi Valmiki Ji, who wrote about the life of Lord Rama in an epic which is popular as Valmiki Ramayana.
Some speakers also claimed that Maharishi Valmiki Ji took rebirth as Goswami Tulsidas Ji and wrote the Ramcharitmanas.
They also said that Sita, the wife of Lord Rama gave birth to twin boys Lava and Kusha in the Ashram of Maharishi Valmiki Ji.
Those who were present on the occasion were working president, Sanjay Gupta, general secretary, Anil Magotra, cashier, Dilip, Atmaram Sagar, Hitesh, Ashutosh, Vijay, ex-Councillor of JMC, Ajay Gupta, Amita Sharma, incharge Valmiki society, Jang Bahadur and others.
