SC/ST/Buddhists LIC employees bat for reservation in promotion

JAMMU, Dec 23: The Jammu unit of All India Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Buddhists LIC Employees’ Welfare Association today batted for reservation in promotion.
The demand was raised during a one-day conference of the association held today here at Press Club. The meeting was presided over by MD Sood, president of the Association. The agenda of the meeting was to support the demands like reservation in promotion, private sector, Indian Army and higher judiciary.
The speakers also stressed for special recruitment drives to fill the backlog posts in Central Government as well as State Government departments, providing land to landless people, and free and equal education to all. The conference also supported Article 35-A.
The delegates of the conference also condemned the atrocities on Dalits and urged the Government to stop all these. Comrade, MY Tarigami inaugurated and the conference and gave full support to the cause of the SC/ST/OBC people.
RK Kalsotra, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave a call to the members and other people to join the rally on December 26 at Ramlila Ground, New Delhi in support of reservation in promotion and private sector and ban on contract system.
Tarseem Khullar, senior leader and guest of honour of the conference, urged the members to be ready for the struggle as nothing can be achieved from the Government without any struggle.
