SCs/STs/OBCs hold rally at Rajouri

RAJOURI, Dec 3: Members of SC, ST and OBC communities have urged  upon the State Government to resolve the issue with regard to  debarring them from the privileges being accorded to the member employees in promotions in various Govt departments.
In a meeting of the members from reserve categories held under the banner of  All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations of Rajouri unit,  the speakers urged upon the Government to provide justice to the members of the community who have been debarred from taking advantage of promotions in Government jobs with a recent High Court judgment. They strongly pleaded that their constitutional rights be restored.
Choudhary Shabir, district president of the Confederation fully endorsed the agenda of the Confedration highlighting the denial  of constitutional rights and privileges granted to the reserved categories under Reservation Act 2004. He said that Dr Udit Raj has given nation wide call for  grand rally on 7th December at Ram Lila Ground, Delhi and it will be fully supported by the J&K unit and all district units. Raj has sought amendment for reservation in promotions. MLA Rajouri Ch Qamar also spoke on the occasion and supported the cause of SCs/ STs/OBCs.
Later, the rally was taken out in the town and it culminated at DC office with submission of a memorandum for the Chief Minister. Abdul Majid, Masood Choudhary, Shakeel Mir  and Ghulam Nabi also addressed the gathering.
