Inaugurating the new campus of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) at Jatni near Bhubaneshwar in Odisha, Prime Minister Modi said that our young scientists and technocrats have the responsibility of making such innovation as would help the people of the country in raising the standard of their lives. He said the nation needed affordable technologies that would ultimately help them live a decent life. It is interesting to connect the traditional knowledge with science and technology. Our traditions give enough hints that research could show interesting results. The ocean and the sky remain unexplored to Indian society so far. Tradition tells us that the ocean is full of wealth. We need to explore that wealth because we have a very large ocean given to us by nature. As far as the space is concerned, our space centre is making great progress and our acquiring of space technology has become known to the worldover since we contemplated Mars mission of our satellite. The Prime Minister, however rightly cautioned that advancement in technology shall have to take care of the ecology and environment and ensure that these are not violated in any way.
