JAMMU, Jan 10: A lady teacher of a Government School allegedly committed suicide today by hanging self in Bohri area of city outskirts.
“The deceased has been identified as Veena Kumari wife of late Romesh Kumar Baru, resident of House No 26, Lane No-2, Anand Nagar (Bohri),” a police official said. He said the woman was presently posted in a Government school at Nowabad, Jammu and her body was found hanging this evening from the hook of the ceiling fan at her residence.
The official said the woman reportedly took this extreme step in depression as she had a bank loan against the house and after being unable to clear the bank dues, she had to abandon the house.
He said that the body of the woman was lying in the mortuary of GMC Jammu and her two young children who are studying outside J&K, have been informed while inquest proceeding has been initiated in this connection by Pounichak police.
