Scholarships worth Rs 65000 distributed to children

JAMMU, Sept 28: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust, Shanti Villa, Talab Tillo, distributed Rs 65000 worth scholarships to 87 children belonging to Akalpur, Arnia, Birpur, Chak Bhalwal, Marjali, Dharam Khoo and other areas.
On the opening day of five-day Scholarship Distribution Bonaza, medical checkup, counseling and evaluation tests were organised for the students.
Vinay Kochhar, SP Nanda and Ajay Kochhar, who have been helping the Trust over the years for supporting girl child education in Jammu region, were the guests of honour at the opening ceremony.
Briefing about the aim and objectives of the Trust, they said, “The Trust was established in 1997 with the objective of supporting education to girl children living in the rural and border areas. And the selection of students is made on the basis of financial need and academic merit from various schools of Jammu region”.
They lauded the role of Trust in providing all round support to the children, i.e, medical, psychological, financial and material.
