JAMMU, Nov 18: The Department of Teacher Education, Academic Unit-II of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, organised a two-day Capacity Building Programme for the Headmasters of Middle Schools.
In her inaugural address, Joint Director, SCERT, Jammu Division, Prof Sindhu Kapoor reaffirmed the critical mandate of the Headmasters in steering institutional progress. She underscored that effective leadership rooted in professionalism, innovation, and inclusive decision-making is essential for strengthening school governance and advancing the broader goals of quality education.
Vinod Bhat, Unit Head, shared insightful remarks lending further depth to the pedagogical and administrative intent of the programme.
The two-day training addressed the crucial transition of Headmasters from teaching to leadership roles, staff management, curriculum implementation, and digital governance. Expert resource persons conducted sessions on a range of relevant themes, including Assessment ( Rakesh Chobber), Leave Rules (Suresh Goriya ), Pedagogical Approaches ( Manu Vasudeva), FLN/NIPUN Bharat ( Anil Sharma), Role and Responsibilities of DIETs & SCERT (Dr Harpreet Kour), Multilingualism and NCF SE ( Monica Sharma), School Culture and Processes ( Sunil Sharma), and Bagless Days (Yogesh Kumar).
The programme was coordinated by Dr Jyoti Sudan, with a steadfast support from Amit Sharma and Kavya Sharma as Associate Coordinators. Overall supervision was provided by Vinod Bhat, Head, Academic Unit-II and Arti Gupta, Head, Department of Teacher Education.
Technical facilitation was provided by Deepak Kumar and Arsh Kour. The smooth functioning of the programme was further strengthened by a committed organising team including Dr Sandeep Singh, Dr Bhuvi, Kamini Verma, Ruksana Gulbadan, Dr Rohini Sharma, Paawan Vivek, Neeraj Jamwal, Poonam Sharma, Dr Sandarve and Meena Thakur.
The programme was moderated by Manu Vasudeva and Kavya Sharma. The event concluded with a valedictory session, where participants shared reflective feedback on their learning experiences. Certificates of participation were distributed to all trainees. A formal vote of thanks was proposed by Arti Gupta, Assistant Professor.
