JAMMU, Feb 11: The Inclusive Education Cell of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Divisional Office, Jammu, orchestrated a transformative 2-day training programme for the key resource persons on inclusive Education.
The programme brought together a cohort of forty two notable participants, including DIET faculty, Masters, and Teachers across Jammu division. The objective of the programme was to equip participants with the requisite knowledge, skills and strategies for further imparting trainings in cascading manner in their respective districts.
The event was inaugurated by Shailesh Kumari, Head IQAC, along with all the senior- most faculty members, Coordinator, and participants. The day’s proceedings began with a welcome address by Dr Neeraj Jandial, Convenor Inclusive Education Cell. This was followed by an overarching overview presented by the Coordinator, delineating the objectives, thematic structure and expected outcomes of the training program.
Over the period of two days, seven exquisitely formulated sessions were conducted on various domains including Universal Design of Learning, Bridging the Technological Divide, Understanding Diversity in the classrooms, Inclusion and Equity, Early Identification, Assessment of Diverse Learners and Education for CWSN by eminent experts with practical acumen including Dr Aksa, Associate Professor GCW, Parade , Dr Rohnika Sharma, Director CRC Jammu, Sushil Hitaishi, Dr Romesh Kumar, HoD DIET Jammu , Akash Gupta, Regional Head SpEd School Jammu, Vivek Jandiyal and Kismat Singh, Coordinator IE district Doda.
Dr Sandeep Singh was the coordinator of the programme, whereas Rukhsana Gulbadan and Sushil Hitaishi acted as Associate Coordinators, supported by a synergistic team including, Shamim Nazki, Arsh Kour, Ruchi Mohan, Madhu Sharma, Sushma Kumari and Yugal Kishore.
The valedictory function was graced by Joint Director, SCERT, Divisional Office Jammu, Prof Sindhu Kapoor. She emphasized that inclusion is at the heart of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which envisions a barrier free, student-centric education system that nurtures the potential of all learners. She exhorted the KRPs to act as harbingers of change in their respective jurisdictions.
Certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Paawan Vivek, Sr Academic Officer.
