JAMMU, Dec 27: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, conducted a two-day capacity building programme on effective Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWP&B) formulation.
The two day programme aimed to strengthen planning, budgeting, and implementation capacities of academic and administrative functionaries engaged in institutional planning at SCERT and DIET levels, aligning with Samagra Shiksha and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 objectives.
The programme was attended by the Principals of DIETs from across the Jammu Division, along with other senior officials from ten DIETs of the Jammu Division. Their active participation significantly contributed to strengthening institutional capacities for effective planning, implementation, and overall academic leadership.
Prof Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT Jammu in her inaugural address, highlighted that a well crafted AWP&B is pivotal for transforming vision into action. She urged the officials to collectively strive for robust, need based planning and outcome oriented strategies in order to emerge as leaders in educational transformation.
The programme featured sessions by eminent experts, including Padmesh Padmakar, Head-Business Development Group, Knowledge and Awareness Mapping Platform (KAMP), along with resource persons from SCERT Jammu- Arti Gupta, Assistant Professor; Senior Academic Officers Rajesh Hali and Dr Harpreet Kaur; and Academic Officers Rohit Sharma and Rakesh Chobber. The sessions focused on designing effective AWP&B proposals, integrating quality interventions, Training Need Analysis (TNA), and positioning DIETs as centres of excellence. Participants engaged in collaborative activities and discussions to apply learning outcomes.
The programme covered key areas like designing AWP&B aligned with NEP 2020 and Samagra Shiksha, Quality interventions for improved learning outcomes, TNA and need-based training design and DIETs as hubs for academic leadership.
The valedictory session emphasized continuous capacity building, quality-focused planning, and institutional ownership of AWP&B processes.
The programme was managed by a diligent team including Manu Vasudeva, Seema Zakir, Sanjay Kumar, Manisha Chun and Arsh Kour. Rohit Sharma and Rakesh Chobber coordinated the programme with technical support by Dr Balgar Singh.
