SCERT conducts 5-day workshop for Social Science teachers

JAMMU, Feb 2: Under the guidance of Director SCERT J&K, Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas, the Department of Curriculum Development and Studies, SCERT Divisional Office Jammu, orchestrated a 5-day workshop on development of manual on Content Awareness, Enrichment and Pedagogical Skills for Masters/Teachers teaching Social Sciences at Secondary level, from January 29 to February 2.
The programme brought together a cohort of fifty notable participants, including Masters and Teachers across Jammu Division. The objective of the workshop was to develop Teacher Energiser Resource Manual by engaging actual classroom experience of the Masters and Teachers teaching Social Sciences.
The event was inaugurated by Joint Director, SCERT J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, Prof Sindhu Kapoor, along with all the Academic Unit Heads, Coordinator and participants.
Over the period of five days, the participants actively engaged in developing a manual where they collaborated to design the Content Awareness, Enrichment and Pedagogical skills while considering a wide array of student competencies.
The Coordinator of the Programme was supported by a synergistic team including Roopse Kapoor, Dr Sandarve Gupta, Poonam Sharma, Dr Rohini Sharma, Sushil Hitaishi, Lakshmi Puri, Sushma Kumari, Anil Sharma, Amit Bhagat and Ashok Kumar Sharma.
The event concluded with a valedictory function, where Joint Director, SCERT Jammu division congratulated the participants for their hardwork and dedication shown throughout the workshop. The programme ended with distribution of appreciation certificates to the participants. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Neena Puri, Associate Coordinator of the Programme.
