JAMMU, June 13: A woman with severe burn injuries has been battling with life in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu since June 2, the day on which she had suffered injuries.
The victim identified as Anju Devi (21) wife of Manohar Mandal, resident of Bihar, is admitted on bed number 29 of Ward Number 2 of the hospital. Her husband is absconding after the incident in which she suffered burn injuries while her parents are in Bihar and can’t visit here due to restrictions on interstate travel.
Presently, she is being looked after by two volunteers of her native village but they being belonged to labour class is finding it difficult to meet expenses on her treatment.
Advocate Nitin Bakshi, who is also a social worker, has appealed the LG GC Murmu to pass directions to GMC authorities to provide free medicines and diagnostic facilities to the victim. He also appealed the Jammuites to come forward for helping the victim financially so that she may get proper treatment and get well soon.
