Sat Sharma reviews progress of power station at Manda

JAMMU, Feb 18: BJP MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) conducted a tour along with senior officials of Power Development Department (PDD) in his Constituency to review the progress of under construction and proposed 3No. 33/11KV Receiving Station at Manda, Shakti Nagar and Paloura under Centrally sponsored RAPDRP (Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Program) for improvement of power supply in urban areas.
In a press statement issued, Sat Sharma (CA) said that at 10 MVA receiving Station Manda, the work was under progress and is likely to be completed by the month of June, 2015 which will help to improve power supply of Ambphalla, New Plot, Karan Nagar and areas of Janipur. The work on 33 KV Station has not been taken up yet due to pending NOC from Wild Life Warden, Jammu as the line will pass through the Wildlife Sanctuary Manda. The MLA assured to take up the matter with the concerned authorities of Wild Life Department of the State.
He stated that at 2X10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station Shakti Nagar, the work is yet to be taken up by the contractor due to the pending land issues with the IIIM, Jammu. He assured to sort out the matter so that work can be taken at earliest before coming Summer season. He also said that this receiving station will benefit Bakshi Nagar, Gurha, Shakti Nagar, Talab Tillo and Rajpura Magotrian.
He also stated that land for proposed 1X10 MVA Sub Station Paloura has also been identified in JDA EWS Colony, Paloura adjacent to Subash Nagar. PDD has approached JDA to hand over the possession of the land and the JDA authorities have passed the matter to Housing and Urban Development Department, Civil Secretariat for approval of the same. He said once the possession is handed over, the work can be taken up immediately which will help in improving power of Subash Nagar, Patoli, Paloura and Janipur areas.
The BJP MLA also assured to take up the matter with concerned authorities of JDA and Housing & Urban Development Department.
Chief Engineer RAPDRP Ravi Chanyal, Superintending Engineers Sunil Gupta & KK Raina, Executive Engineers and AEEs of Jammu and GM IRCON International Ltd. RK Chowdhary, Ayodhya Gupta, Praduman Singh, Karan Sharma, Balwan Singh, Onkar Singh, Sanjay Sawhney, Sorab, and senior staff of IRCON also accompanied the MLA during his visit.
