JAMMU, Apr 3: To take stock of the upcoming works to be done for the welfare of patients in Government Medical College, an emergency meeting of the Hospital Development Board was held in the Committee Hall of GMC which was chaired by MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA). Officials including Principal, Medical Superintendent and concerning incharge of various other departments of GMC were also present in the meeting.
In a press statement issued, Sat Sharma (CA) said that a fruitful meeting of the Hospital Development Board took place in which a discussion pertaining to the starting of upcoming developmental works in GMC was made so that in coming times the patients coming from various parts of the State should not face any problems in the future. He said that a provision of more than Rs 45 lakhs out of Hospital Development Fund has been made by the Hospital Development Board for the upcoming developmental works in the Hospital.
He stated that provisions have been made for various necessary works in the hospital including seating arrangements in the waiting area of ICU’s, OT’s and Wards in the Hospital. Repair & Maintenance of various areas of the Ward and fixtures like Wheel Chairs, Modification of existent patient trolleys, examination couches & office furniture.
Provision for new wheel chairs, crash carts & roll in beds. air conditioning services in Emergency area of the Hospital, proper sanitation in the hospital premises, provision of drinking water facility in the Hospital. Maintenance of Lifts in the Hospital and provisions related to other works were discussed in the meeting.
The MLA also stressed upon cleanliness in the Hospital premises so that “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” could be promoted. He said that the prime concern will be keeping the Emergency section cool in summer season so that patients along with attendants should not face any problem in the scorching heat. The MLA also assured that any extra necessary help to improve the infrastructure of the hospital will be done and the help of Minister of Health and Medical Education will also be taken in this regard.
Principal GMC Dr Ghansham Dev, Medical Superintendent Ravinder Rattanpal, MO Store Dr Uttam Singh, Emergency Incharge Dr Sujay Mahajan, HoD Cardiac Dr Susheel Sharma, Dy. Medical Supdtt. Dr Wasiq Rasool, X-En Mechanical HS Chibber, AEE Mechanical Rita Rehan, AEE Md. Tariq Raina, Accounts Officer Sulekha Gupta, JE Anshu Akash, CMO Dr Sanjeev and others were present in the meeting.
