JAMMU, Dec 17: Sarv Shakti Sena, J&K demanded separate Jammu State to end the regional discrimination and neglect of over 70 years.
In a press conference here today, president Sarv Shakti Sena, J&K, Rajan Gupta claimed that Jammu has continuously suffered discrimination in education, sports, tourism, employment, infrastructure and administrative representation.
He highlighted recent controversies surrounding admissions in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College and also raised concerns over sports discrimination, particularly in selection regarding events like Santosh Trophy, where players from Jammu were sidelined.
Gupta also emphasized that Jammu region has immense tourism potential which lack promotion, poor road connectivity, and absence of planned investment has kept Jammu’s tourism sector underdeveloped.
He demanded separate Jammu State to ensure equal rights and justice for the people of Jammu.
“Separate Jammu State is not a political slogan but a democratic necessity,” Rajan Gupta maintained appealing to the Central Government to recognize the genuine grievances of Jammu’s people and initiate a serious dialogue on Statehood for Jammu.
