JAMMU, Nov 23: Sanyogita and Shubam Gupta were declared as strongwoman and strongman of the District Powerlifting Championship for both men and women, organised at Indoor Sports Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
Sanyogita lifted 160 kg in the 53 kg weight category, while Shubam Gupta lifted 410 kg in the 66kg weight category during the championship.
The Championship was organised by Powerlifting Association of J&K wherein 60 players under different categories participated. Medals and certificates were distributed among the winners by the chief guest, Sahil Ji Maharaj in presence of guests of honour including Diksha Kalhuria, Riya Kalhuria and Sandhya Gupta (Special guest) and Atual Gupta (Councillor).
The officiating referees were Rohit Singh, Preet Dutta, Sandeep Kumar, Vijay Choudhary, Rakesh Kumar and Ankush.
The vote of thanks was presented by Kuldeep Singh, working president, while Rakesh Kumar, general secretary and officials including Shalinder Dogra, Vijay, Shobit Verma, Vipul Gupta and others were present during the event.
