
2-day training workshop for MLAs begins at Katra

JAMMU, Feb 28: Ahead of the scheduled Budget Session of J&K Legislative Assembly, BJP National General Secretary (Organization), B L Santosh today asked the party MLAs to be proactive inside as well as outside the House for ensuring that public issues are effectively raised.

“Every elected representative and the party worker must adhere to organizational guidelines and work towards strengthening the party’s presence in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, while addressing the BJP MLAs during the two-day training workshop for the party legislators, which began today at the holy town Katra.
With focus on ensuring effective participation of the BJP MLAs in the Assembly proceedings, the two-day ‘Vidahayak Prashikshan Shivir’ is being attended by the party’s national level leaders and strategists to mentor the MLAs on debate strategies, countering opposition arguments and effectively highlighting public issues.
BJP national president J P Nadda and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh will join the workshop tomorrow on the concluding day. They will reach Katra Saturday morning and straightway proceed to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine for paying obeisance before lecturing MLAs in the workshop.
Laying thrust on the importance of this training workshop, B L Santosh said that these drills further strengthen their will to serve their purpose with dedication. He said that various sessions in the training workshop will help them to improve their public skills and guide them in maintaining regular contact with the party activists and the public to achieve their broader purpose of being elected to the House of esteem importance.
The BJP leaders asked the legislators to deal pro-actively with the public and their issues. While boosting the party MLAs to ensure ‘nation first’ in their every approach, he asked them to dedicate themselves to get the public issues resolved,
Tarun Chugh, BJP National General Secretary and In-charge J&K, discussed the historical perspective of the socio-political developments and subsequent conditions in Jammu & Kashmir. He drew attention towards the constant damage caused to the erstwhile J&K State, by certain political parties under the garb of Article 370. He also highlighted the developmental and positive changes in J&K, brought after Article 370 was abrogated by the Modi Government.
Amit Malviya, BJP IT and Social Media head, apprised the party MLAs about significance of their presence on social media platform for connecting with people.
J&K BJP president Sat Sharma, in his address, asked the BJP MLAs to strongly resonate the voice of people and give logical conclusion to their issues. He said that that in recently held Assembly Elections in J&K, BJP secured maximum votes, which signifies the high level trust of people that has been gained by BJP among all sections of society.
Earlier, B L Santosh along with Tarun Chugh, Sat Sharma, Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), J&K BJP, Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha) and Ghulam Ali Khatana, MP (Rajya Sabha), inaugurated the workshop.
All 28 MLAs of the party remained present in the day-long sessions of the training workshop, which will conclude tomorrow.
Meanwhile, talking to media persons on the sidelines of the workshop, Leader of Opposition, Sunil Sharma said that BJP would not allow unconstitutional, and anti-national agenda bills in the Assembly.
“India is being run by the book of the Constitution, and there is no provision that whatever has been passed in Parliament and settled by the Supreme Court can be restored in the Assembly,” he said, in reference to possible attempts of Kashmir based parties to raise the issue of Article 370.
MLA Shagun Parihar accused the PDP and National Conference of misleading the people on Article 370, asserting: “They will continue to mislead, but Article 370 will never be reinstated.”
Highlighting public concerns, MLA Narinder Singh asserted that they would fight for the interests of the people. “The unemployed should get jobs, the budget should focus on job creation, and daily wage workers should be regularized. Many people have received excessive electricity bills, which should be waived off,” he said.
