JAMMU, Nov 5: Under the aegis of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust (SKJVST), a free Sanskrit Mobile Gurukul was inaugurated here today at Baba Jitto Ji Temple in Jhiri during the ongoing fair.
The event was graced by the chief guest, SDM (Marh), Pallavi Mishra and guest of honour SSP, Brijesh Sharma.
The programme was presided over by Mahant Rohit Shastri, State Awardee and SKJVST president.
Speaking on the occasion Pallavi Mishra said that Sanskrit is not only a language but the very foundation of Indian culture, philosophy, spirituality and moral life.
SSP Brijesh Sharma stated that study of Sanskrit connects youth with India’s ancient wisdom and moral values.
Rohit Shastri informed that the Sanskrit Mobile Gurukul was inaugurated by J&K LG Manoj Sinha and presently the Trust is operating two mobile Sanskrit Gurukuls, providing free Sanskrit education to learners in both rural and urban areas.
Dr. Satya Priya, Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu, emphasized that Sanskrit and Dogri share an inseparable bond.
The programme began with Vedic prayers and ceremonial lamp lighting.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Mahant Jagdish Mehta, Rakesh Gandotra, Sunil Sharma, Bhushan Jamwal, Manu Mehta, Bhuvnesh Mehta and others.
The function concluded with felicitation of guests and vote of thanks.
