KARGIL, Feb 6: The people of Sankoo Sub Division gathered at Sankoo Headquarter to demand district status for Sankoo Sub Division.
The protesters demanded that amid of the non representation of the public representatives, the only way for the people of Suru Valley is to get district status.
The protestors felt that the region has been ignored in all sections, therefore it is a high time for the Union Government and UT Administration to consider the demand of district for Sub Division Sankoo.
It is pertinent to mention here that the protestors clarified that their movement is not on religious grounds and we are not against the demand of the people of Zanskar as district.
More then 3000 people gathered at Sankoo Bazar amid of minus 20 degree Celsius temperature.
