Established in 1995, SSK observes the day every year with fervour to remember and pay obeisance to Mata Sharda, the revered Goddess of knowledge and learning.
The celebration began with a Mahayagya in honour of Mata Sharda, whose ancient temple stands in the Kishan Ganga valley of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The ritual was followed by offering flowers and chanting Sharda Vandana.
