JAMMU, Jan 6: Youth Wing of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti today staged a strong but peaceful protest outside the Civil Secretariat in Jammu against the UT administration.
Shouting slogans, they alleged irregularities, flaws, and biased behaviour by BOPEE in the MBBS admission process. They raised serious questions about the Government’s functioning and expressed deep resentment over discrepancies in the Health and Higher Education Departments.
Giving religious colour to the protest, members of the Youth Wing sat near the main gate of the Secretariat and collectively performed a peaceful recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa.
During the protest, under the leadership of Youth In-charge Kartik Sudan, a large number of youth gathered outside the Civil Secretariat complex and raised slogans against the UT Government, specifically targeting Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Health Minister Sakina Ittoo.

“Since BOPEE operates directly under the UT administration, the Chief Minister and the concerned departmental minister cannot escape responsibility for any lack of transparency or malpractice in the admission process,” they said and alleged that the future of Jammu’s students is being toyed with under the Government’s nose and constitutional institutions are being misused to benefit a specific group.
Kartik Sudan issued a stern warning to the Government , stating that while today’s protest was peaceful and adhered to democratic limits, the administration should not mistake it for weakness. He claimed that the technical and administrative flaws deliberately left in the BOPEE admission process appear to be part of a deep-rooted conspiracy to destroy the careers of promising youth.
Meanwhile, Convener of the Sangharsh Samiti, Colonel Sukhvir Singh Mankotia demanded immediate intervention from the Chief Minister and the Health Minister to cancel the flawed admission process and restore a fair and impartial system.
Anshu, Rahul, Atul, Jatin, Uttam, Sanjay, Abhimanyu, Veenu, Manik, Akshay, Ankit, and others were also present in the protest.
