Samooh Theatre felicitates women with remarkable contributions

JAMMU, Mar 14: In connection with International Women’s Day, Samooh Theatre today felicitated the women, who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields.
Priya Sethi, former Minister for Culture and vice president, BJP, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In her address, she congratulated all the honoured women, appreciated their tireless work in their respective fields and encouraged them to continue with the same zeal, dedication, and commitment.
The women, who were honoured for their distinguished services included, Geetu Bangotra, presently CEO, Samagra Shiksha, in the field of Education, Sunita Bhadwal for her contribution to Dogri Literature, Prof Dr Jasmeet Kour for Indian Classical Music, Rabia Khajuria for Media and Social Service, Neha Raina for Media and Theatre and Dr Himja Bhutyal for Medical and Social Service.
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, founder and Director of Samooh Theatre, welcomed the chief guest, other dignitaries and the audience.
He also apprised them of the organisation’s 35 years of contribution in the fields of culture, theatre and literature, through the organisation of thousands of activities and events at both the state and national levels.
The programme also featured colourful and captivating performances by children and young artists, which greatly mesmerised the audience.
The participants included Ananya Gupta, Diya Verma, Urvi Raina, Manat Bhau, Tanvi Sharma and Ashvita.
A lecture on women empowerment was also presented during the programme.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Anita Chandpuri.
Among other, who attended the programme included Tanvir Dar, Janak Khajuria, Madan Rangila, Dr Kamal Sharma, Bodh Vardhan, Brij Mohan (Music Director), Sanjay Raina, Pt. Brij Mohan Dubey, Danish VK, Vinod Kumar Khullar, Aman, Arun Sharma and Vageesh Sharma Aman.
