SAMBA, Sept 23: Samba police has worked out a theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Ghagwal, arrested one accused person and recovered stolen item from his possession.
Police said on Monday a written complaint was lodged at Police Post (PP) Rajpura by one person namely Onkar Nath, son of Govind Ram of Kalwal Malani tehsil Rajpura district Samba regarding theft of electrical wires of motor pumps from the crop fields.
Acting upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 93/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station (PS) Ghagwal and investigation started.
Police said during the course of investigation, a police team of PP Rajpura of PS Ghagwal after relentless efforts, apprehended one accused namely Zakir Hussain, son of Noor Ali of Manghu Chak Tehsil, Gadhi Gadh District Jammu who upon sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the instant case.
Further on the disclosure of the accused, stolen item was recovered. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
