Samba police works out theft case, arrests 2 thieves

SAMBA, Sept 19: Samba Police has worked out a theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba, arrested two accused persons and recovered stolen item from their possession.
Police said on September 16, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS) Samba by one lady Santosh Kumari, wife of late BehariLal of Kehli Mandi Samba regarding theft of barbed wire from the premises of her house during the intervening night of 15/16-09-2025.
Acting upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 237/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
It said during the course of investigation, the police team of PS Samba after relentless efforts, successfully apprehended two accused namely Rohit Sambyal, son of late Yuvraj Singh of Kehli Mandi, Budwani Samba and Rajat Billowria, son of Ramesh Singh Billowria of Budwani Samba who upon sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the instant case.
Further on their disclosure, stolen item was recovered. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
The arrest was made under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
