SAMBA, Sept 18: Samba police has slapped PSA (Public Safety Act) on a hardcore criminal and lodged him in District Jail Poonch.
Police said the PSA was slapped on the criminal for his continuous involvement in unlawful activities. He has been identified as Alex Matoo, son of Kenny Matoo of Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana in district Samba.
Police said in view of repeated indulgence of Alex Matoo in criminal activities including theft, snatching, assault and gang related offense in the area, District Police Samba prepared a dossier and submitted it to the District Magistrate Samba with connected documents. Accordingly, the criminal was lodged in District Jail Poonch after obtaining formal detention order from the district Magistrate Samba, police said.
It said for his repeated involvement in criminal activities, multiple cases have been registered against the criminal at different police stations of District Samba and District Jammu viz Police Station (PS) Samba, PS Bari Brahmana, PS Gangyal and PS Bahu Fort.
Dossier for the PSA was prepared by Police team under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
