SAMBA, Sept 2: Continuing crackdown on illegal mining, Samba Police has seized five vehicles including two dumpers and one excavator across the district which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material.
Police said its teams headed by SHO PS Ghagwal, SHO PS Vijaypur, SHO PS Purmandal and in charge Police Post (PP) Supwal of PS Samba while performing patrolling duty in their jurisdictional areas have seized an excavator (JCB) without Registration Number, two dumpers bearing Registration Number JK21J-0974 and JK21-8772, a tractor trolley bearing Registration Number JK20-5014 and a tractor trolley without Number which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material in the area.
All the vehicles have been seized by Samba Police and handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further legal action, it said.
