SAMBA, Aug 21: Continuing its crackdown against illegal mining in the district, Samba Police has seized 15 vehicles including 11 dumpers across the district, which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material.
Police said its teams headed by SHO PS Ghagwal, SHO PS Samba, SHO PS Vijaypur, SHO PS Bari Brahmana, SHO PS Purmandal, in charge Police Post (PP) Rajpura of PS Ghagwal and in charge Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli of PS Samba while performing patrolling duties in their jurisdictional areas, have seized 11 dumpers bearing Registration Nos. JK21F-7667, JK21E-7540, JK21J-8683, JK21G-5151, JK21G-5674, JK21J-7458, JK21C-2988, JK21H-5888,JK21J-9254, JK21H-8191, JK21J-5799 and two tractor trolleys bearing registration Nos. JK02DL-1079, JK21G-8797 & two tractor trolleys without Nos. which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material in the area, it added.
It said all the vehicles have been seized by Samba Police and handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further legal action.
