SAMBA: Oct 09,: Samba police has seized approximately 12 quintals adulterated Paneer (Cheese) from two vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Post (PP) Rajpura falling under Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Police said acting on specific information, a team of Police Post (PP) Rajpura laid a naka near PP Rajpura and intercepted Swift Car bearing Registration Number PBO6AL-2806 Swift car and Tata Innova Car bearing Registration Number HR39B-0400.
It said during checking, approximately eight quintals of Paneer was recovered from Innova Car whereas approximately four quintals of Paneer was recovered from Swift Car. The vehicles were moving from Punjab to Jammu side via border road. Police has seized both the vehicles on the spot.
Accordingly, the matter was taken up with the Food Safety Department who has conducted on spot sampling and found that the recovered Paneer was adulterated and unfit for human consumption.
