Samba police rescues 20 bovines, arrests smuggler

SAMBA, Aug 12: District police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 20 animals and arresting one bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
Acting on information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police team of PS Samba intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number HR73/3535 for checking on NHW in a surprise check point near Chichi Mata Mandir, Samba.
During checking of the truck, 20 bovines were found which were tied in a cruel manner and were transported without any permission.
The driver of the vehicle namely Nursad Ahmed, son of Sajjad Ahmed of MalkMorh tehsil Mirzapur, district Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh has been arrested.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 211/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
