Samba police nabs 2 drug peddlers, seizes 10.72 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Mar 5: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Vijaypur and recovered approximately 10.72 grams heroin-(Chitta) from their possession.
Police said a team of Police Station (PS), Vijaypur during vehicle checking naka at NHW AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a Mahindra Scorpio bearing Registration Numbeer, JK02AB-0002 for its checking which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Vijaypur side. During checking, approximately 10.72 grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from the possession of two persons travelling in the said vehicle, he said.
Police said the drug peddlers identified as Rafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Farooq of Ragoora district Jammu and Ali, son of Mohd Din of Lower Ragoora district Jammu have been arrested. The contraband item along with vehicle has also been seized by the police.
A case FIR No. 40/2026 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
The seizure was made under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
