Samba police books notorious drug peddler under PITNDPS Act

SAMBA, Aug 27: Taking stringent action against notorious drug peddlers/ smugglers involved in illicit narcotics trade, Samba police has booked a notorious drug peddler under prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act for his continues involvement in spreading drug menace in the area and lodged him in the district Jail Udhampur.
The notorious drug peddler detained under PITNDPS Act has been identified as Yogeshwar Singh @ Jebu, son of Yashpaul Singh of Udh Mandi, Gurah Slathia, tehsil Vijaypur district Samba. The drug peddler is involved in different cases registered against him at Police Station (PS), Vijaypur for his role in promoting the drug trade by supplying narcotics to people especially youth of the area.
In view of repeated indulgence of notorious drug peddler Yogeshwar Singh @ Jebu in illicit drug trafficking in the area, district police Samba prepared and submitted a dossier and other connected documents to the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Accordingly, notorious drug peddler Yogeshwar Singh @ Jebu has been lodged in District Jail Udhampur after obtaining formal detention order from Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
