Samba police arrests mobile thief, recovers 9 mobiles

SAMBA, July, 20: Samba police has arrested a burglar who had stolen mobiles from a mobile phone shop at Main Chowk Samba and recovered nine mobile phones worth Rs 2.20 lakhs approximately from his possession.
Police said today a complaint was lodged by one Sandeep Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar of Rakh AmbTali Samba at PS Samba regarding theft of mobile phones from his shop “Meeran Communication” at Main Chowk, Samba.
In this regard a case FIR No 113/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Samba and investigation started. After strenuous efforts along with technical assistance, a police team of PS Samba apprehended a suspect namely Mohammad Rahmat Ali, son of Mohammad Mathura at present Lane No. 3 Bathindi, Jammu. During the sustained interrogation, the accused confessed the commission of theft in the instant case and on his disclosure nine mobile phones worth Rs 2.20 lacs approximately were recovered.
Further investigation is going on.
