SAMBA, May 4: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers and smugglers, Samba police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and recovered 7.50 grams of heroin (chitta) like substance from their possession.
A police party of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur under the supervision of SDPO, Vijaypur and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas during vehicle checking at naka NHW AIIMS, intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK02CT-3626 for its checking. During checking, 7.50 grams (approximately) heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of the two persons riding on the said motorcycle.
The drug peddlers identified as Mohd Mustafa, son of Soni Mohd. and Usman Choudhary, son of Yousaf Hussain both residents of Badhori tehsil, Bari Brahmana district Samba have been arrested and contraband item along with motorcycle have also been seized.
A case FIR No. 45/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
SSP Samba warned strict action against the people indulging in drug trafficking, bovine smuggling and other criminal activities and also sought the cooperation of people in this regard.
