JAMMU, Oct 23: A 40-42 years old individual lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a scooty and a truck at Sainik Colony area here today.
Rakesh Kumar son of Bishan Dass of Sarore, Samba, sustained severe injuries when his bike was initially hit by a scooty and later by a truck at Sainik Colony area early in the morning, a police official said.
He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Jammu by DTI Railway, Inspector Anayat Hussain, where the attending doctors declared him as dead on arrival, he said.
While the truck driver has been detained for questioning, the scooty rider has been hospitalised as he too has received injuries in the accident, the police official further said.
Meanwhile, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and further investigation has been set into the motion.
