Samba girl recovered from Rajouri

RAJOURI, Apr 18: A 18-year-old girl who had fled after she was being forcibly married by her parents in Punjab, was recovered from Kotranka area of district Rajouri today.
The local villagers of Jaglanu, got suspicious after they noticed an unknown girl in the house of the neighbours. A woman of the house tried to convince the neighbours that this girl left the house and was noticed on the road in Jammu area and she brought her here. The villagers informed the police suspecting something fishy. Budhal police after inquiry found that 18-year old Sulekha Begum, daughter of Sair Din of village Chak Mangu in Samba had escaped from her house. The girl told that her father being lured for money, was about to marry her with an elderly man in Punjab. Therefore, she left the house.
The police at Budhal (Kotranka) then contacted parents of the girl in Samba and restored her to them with the warning that they will not organize her marry, without her wishes and the police will take cognizance of the matter if they do so.
