Samba, May 30: District Administration Samba in a meeting today resolved the issue regarding plying of matadors for Sumb and adjoining areas.
The meeting was chaired by DC Samba, Sheetal Nanda and attended by SSP Samba, Joginder Singh, ACR Samba Parveen Kumar, ARTO Samba Kuldeep Singh, DySP HQ Varinder Singh, SHO Samba Sanjeev Chib and delegations from Beopar Mandal Samba, Sumb residents,Matador Unions and prominent citizens.
It was decided that the bus/minibus services will ply from New Bus Stand Samba and civil amenities will be provided gradually in due course of time. Also, there will be no haltage at Samba Main Chowk. Thereafter, the vehicles will halt at designated stop near Ice Factory.
The DC directed the ARTO to make sure that vehicles display their route, fare and time table of operation. She also emphasised upon residents to submit complaints regarding violations for necessary administrative action like cancelling of route permit. She also directed EO Municipality to continue anti-encroachment drive so that road congestion can be avoided.
She reiterated that in view of frequent traffic jams and road accidents, it is necessary to take these pre-emptive measures. SSP Samba assured full cooperation from the Police Department in implementation of the decision.
Later, a meeting was also held to deliberate upon the action plan prepared upon by the Flood Control Division Samba under the chairpersonship of DC Samba. It was informed that a control room has been established in the office of Flood Control Division Samba which will work round the clock from July to September 2016.The stock position and availability of necessary items like empty cement bags, crates, B.A wires and essential commodities like rice, wheat, LPG were also reviewed.
The DC directed Xen Flood Control to circulate helpline numbers for awareness of general public. She also directed SDO BSNL to improve the poor network connectivity and attend the complaints of public and Govt departments promptly.
