KISHTWAR, May 14: Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana today withheld the salary of Tehsildar Bunjwah for dereliction of duties.
According to official spokesman, based on the directions of DC, Nodal Officer Grievance Cell (Punctuality) asked Tehsildar Bunjwah to visit Middle School Manathon, Bunjwah today and check the attendance of teaching staff and also enquire locally about the smooth functioning of the school there after verify the facts from the records of the office of ZEO Drabshalla.
Tehsildar Bunjwah failed to comply the instructions and took the matter very lightly and instead of complying the instructions in letter and spirit, deputed NaibTehsildar for the purpose furnishing half baked information with lot of ambiguities.
“Non compliance on the part of Tehsildar, Bunjwah tantamount to unbecoming of an officer which warrants strict disciplinary action under rules”, spokesman said, adding that acting tough against the erring officer, the salary of the Tehsildar Bunjwah has been kept withheld till further order.
Further, Tehsildar Bunjwah has been directed to explain his position within two days as to why disciplinary action be not initiated against him.
DC Kishtwar further warned all the officers and officials to remain punctual in Government offices and do their legitimate duties otherwise strict disciplinary action will be initiated, the spokesman added.
