JAMMU, Nov 2: Keeping in view the dismal performance, the Government today ordered withholding of salaries of 18 Block Development Officers (BDOs).
These BDOs were of blocks Kupwara, Trahgam, Rajwara, Herri Qadriabad, Panthal, Kalaroose, Harwan, Sogam, Mawar Qalamabad, Kralpora, Ramhal, Magam, Nadihal, Khonmoh, Reddi Chowkibal, Qaziabad, Srinagar and Thakrakote
The salary was withheld by the Administrative Secretary while reviewing the progress of e-KYC of Mahatama Gandhi NREGA workers today wherein October 31, 2025 was fixed as the time line.
The Administrative Secretary observed that about 18 Blocks were well below the UT average of 49.68 per cent which amounts to dereliction of duties on part of the BDOs of the concerned blocks.
An order in this regard stated that these BDOs shall not draw their salaries for the month of October 2025 if not drawn already besides they shall also not draw the salary for the month of November onwards unless the targets for the e-KYC for the month of November onwards are not achieved.
