JAMMU, Apr 3: Saksham J&K organized a meeting here today to finalize its annual plan for the year 2026-27, with strong focus on welfare, empowerment and holistic development of Divyangjans.
Around 100 workers from various district units participated in the meeting.
In inaugural session, Sunil Singh, Prant Secretary presented detailed roadmap for the upcoming year emphasizing systematic planning, coordination and expansion of activities.
A comprehensive review of Dehmahi and Charavati Parkoshtas was undertaken by Dr. B.D Sharma and Daleep Singh, along with Sukhdev Singh, who emphasized strengthening outreach programmes and ensuring deeper engagement with Divyangjan communities.
The session on organizational Aayams featured deliberations by Chanchal Rajput on Mahila Aayam and Pawan Dev Singh on Yuva Aayam stressing inclusive participation of women and youth in service and awareness initiatives.
Other senior functionaries including O.D Atri, Ajit Kotwal and Chanchal Rajput also shared their views and experiences regarding organizational works and service activities for Divyangjans.
A major highlight of the meeting was the detailed discussion on all 21 categories of disabilities, wherein participants deliberated upon specific challenges, targeted interventions and need-based support mechanisms to ensure inclusive and comprehensive development.
Addressing the gathering, Abhey Pargal Gupta, National Joint Secretary Saksham emphasized making Divyangjans self-reliant through focused initiatives in education, skill development, employment and training. He stressed that Divyangjans are an integral part of society and can significantly contribute to nation building if provided proper opportunities and support for their capacity building.
Gupta further elaborated that Saksham Samdrishti, Kshamata Vikas evam Anusandhan Mandal is a Pan-India national organization dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of Divyangjans.
Swami Vishwanathan, northern region Sangathan Mantri Saksham emphasized that service to Divyangjans must be carried out with a spirit of sensitivity, dedication and commitment.
Prominent members present in the meeting included Prem Pal Singh, Deepik Dutta, Manoj Sharma, Nirmal Kotwal, Parshotam Sharma, Ravi Singh, Romesh Singh, Sardari Singh, Davinder Vaid and others.
