Sakina Bano appointed coordinator in Union Ministry of Minority Affairs

NEW DELHI, Sept 23: Sakina Bano, a senior BJP leader and former president of its Mahila Morcha has been appointed coordinator for Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) in the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs Government of India.
She will be first ever coordinator appointed for the purpose exclusively for Jammu region of the J&K State.
This was stated in an official handout issued here today by Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Dr Najma A Heptulla. Mrs Bano is an eminent educationist and social activist who is a Muslim by birth.
The handout said that Sakina Bano’s appointment has been made keeping in view her background and expertise in the field of social work, especially for the upliftment of minority women.
The communiqué further expressed hope that, based upon her vast experience, Bano will be able to promote the chapter and goals of MANAS and mobilize the marginal sections of the minority communities in the State of J&K to take benefit of Government of India ‘s skill development initiative.
