Responding to BJP’s criticism of the Government’s performance, Itoo said the party, which has 28 seats, should show what it has done in its constituencies over the past year.
“They also have 28 MLAs – let them show their report card and tell people what they have been able to achieve in one year. It is their Government at the Centre and projects are sanctioned there. If there have been delays, they are responsible for it,” she told reporters after inaugurating two-day annual sports meet of GMC Srinagar.
Itoo asserted that the NC-led Government has achieved remarkable progress despite several challenges.
“We are proud that in one year, our Government has achieved a lot. What BJP couldn’t accomplish in ten years, we have managed within this period. They are questioning us for one year; I ask them what they have done in ten,” she said.
She accused the BJP of “snatching away” J&K’s identity and status and reiterated that the Statehood must be restored.
“They broke J&K and took away its status. We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will deliver a judgment that reflects the aspirations of the people and restore our Statehood,” she added.
Itoo also said that while many key projects and welfare schemes are approved directly from Delhi, any delays in their execution are a result of inefficiency at the central level.
“The NC has worked tirelessly for the welfare of people across all sectors, and whatever success we have achieved is despite the obstacles,” she said.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, Itoo underscored the crucial link between the physical and mental well-being of healthcare professionals and its impact on overall quality of healthcare delivery.
“Our doctors and medical students are the backbone of the healthcare system. Their physical fitness and emotional balance directly influence the care they provide. Initiatives like these help rejuvenate their spirits and foster teamwork and positivity,” she said.
