JAMMU, Sept 2: A saint, who had injured himself with a blade in an apparent suicide attempt, died today at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
Police said the deceased, Raj Kishore, 37, son of Ramanand Mehta of Patna, was presently living at Tawi Mandir near Mandir-Masjid point.
On Saturday, he had inflicted serious injuries on himself with a blade at the Mandir, they said, adding that he was shifted to GMC Jammu by another saint, Arjun Giri, but succumbed to his injuries around 8:30 am today.
Police said the body has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem.
After medico-legal formalities, it will be handed over to the family for last rites, they added.
